Couples typically spend over a year planning every detail of a wedding from attire to venue where stress and sleepless nights are the norm. Reward your hard work and focus on your time as a newly married couple at one of the world’s top honeymoon destinations. After all, a honeymoon is one of the few times in life you’re encouraged to splurge and focus on just each other. Whether you’re after a unique or classic honeymoon, there’s something to fit every budget and dream destination from all-inclusive resorts to cruises.
The Caribbean
With countless islands to choose from, there truly is something for everyone in the Caribbean. Whether you are looking for pristine white sand beaches and blue waters or something more adventurous, there is an island for you. Many couples seek out this area to stay at an all-inclusive resort. More than just a budget-friendly option, these resorts offers everything including upscale accommodations, luxury amenities, daily activities & entertainment, elevated food choices and free-flowing cocktails.
Sandals Resorts offer the perfect setting as couples and adults only resorts – they are designed for romance! Located on some of the best islands and beaches in the Caribbean, no two resorts are the same. They vary in design, layout and amenities however, they ALL include luxurious suites, gourmet 5-star dining and more inclusions than some other resorts brands. Daily snorkeling trips, golf greens fees on select islands and SCUBA included. Some of my personal favorites are Barbados, Grenada and Curacao. I also can’t wait to see the new Sandals Dunn’s River opening in a few short months.
Italy
For a honeymoon with a mix of culture, amazing food and a variety of landscapes, Italy is a very popular choice. Art lovers, history buffs and foodies swoon over the Italian options of Florence, Venice, Rome and the Amalfi Coast. Don’t overlook more unique choices like spending time on legendary Lake Como or popping down to the charming island of Sicily. Most couples choose 2-3 cities to explore to get the full experience. Cities like Positano and Sorrento are very popular in the warmer months. Can’t you just see yourself waking up to amazing sea views from your balcony then spending the day exploring the small towns along the cost, hopping out to Capri or sipping Aperol spritzes at one of the beach clubs?
Greece
Island hopping your way through the Greek Islands is an amazing way to being your married lives together. The dramatic cliff views, the traditional whitewashed Cycladic architecture, cave style rooms with private pools and amazing food – what could be better! It’s easy to visit a few islands during your stay in the Mediterranean with the most popular stops being Santorini and Mykonos. History lovers would love a quick stop in Athens to see the ancient history in person.
Bora Bora
There’s something romantic about flying to the far-flung corners of the earth for a tropical adventure with your loved one. Tahiti’s South Pacific islands in French Polynesia include destinations like
Bora Bora and Moorea. Most couples enjoy splitting their time between these two islands. No stay in the area is complete without at least a few nights in a romantic and dreamy overwater bungalow. Imagine views stretching out over the Pacific and waking up to a warm ocean breeze with your new spouse – it doesn’t get much better than that! It’s difficult to grasp just how beautiful this area is with a lush landscape and inlets with a blue lagoon and a coral reef waiting to be explored. By day, dive into the turquoise waters for snorkeling, kayaking, and outrigger canoeing before relaxing over a candlelit dinner with fresh cuisine and cocktails.
Choosing from the world’s top honeymoon destinations takes some careful planning, but shouldn’t be a stressful experience. After all, a honeymoon is a chance to relax and celebrate your new life together. Start narrowing down your wish list of dream destinations like an all-inclusive luxury vacation or a honeymoon cruise. Then start discussing what types of activities you’d like to do on your honeymoon like scuba diving in the tropics, hiking or sampling authentic local cuisine. You can also save yourself time and stress by working with an experienced honeymoon travel agent to take care of all the details.
